Replacing the 3.0 litre Duratec engine is a new 3.5 litre mill which creates 263 horsepower. The engine uses variable cam timing and a multi-valve design to create more power and refinement than comparable engines from GM, Nissan, Chrysler and Honda. A six-speed automatic gearbox is the only transmission offered. That transmission drives the front wheels on the standard model, which is priced at $37,899. New for this year is an all-wheel-drive system, the first fitted to a Lincoln product. Pricing for an all-wheel-drive MKZ is $39,899. The suspension has been re-tuned to capitalize on the increased power and available AWD handling. Through its refinements, upgrades and closer attention to customer needs, the MKZ is sure to be vital step towards Ford's Way Forward plan. Expect the MKZ to arrive in showrooms next month. |
